Australian Passport Renewal Application

To assist you in this process, please read the Notes using Adobe Acrobat reader before commencing your application. Once you have printed your form ensure you SIGN the declaration in black pen WITHIN THE SIGNATURE BOX.
This form has compulsory sections (steps 2, 3, 4 and 5) which must be completed before you can view, print or save your form. You can move to the next non-compulsory step by clicking on the 'Next' button at the bottom of each page.
Use this form if you are an Australian adult citizen aged 18 years or over and have an adult passport that can be presented at your interview which:
- was issued with a validity of at least two years, and
- is current, or has expired within the last twelve months, and
- was issued with your current personal details
- is the same type. You cannot use a renewal form to replace a diplomatic or official passport with an ordinary or frequent traveller passport.
Do NOT use this form if:
- your previous passport was issued when you were a minor under 18 years of age
- your previous passport was issued as a Limited Validity or Emergency Passport, a Document of Identity, Certificate of Identity, or a Convention Travel Document
- your previous passport is unavailable
- you are renewing a child's passport
- your previous passport was lost or stolen
- you have changed your name.
You will need to complete a full passport application form (Select "No" at "Do you wish to renew your Australian passport" question).

In Australia
Applications should be personally lodged at an Australia Post outlet. To find the nearest Australia Post outlet that will accept your passport application, visit their website. An appointment may be necessary.
Overseas
For advice on how to lodge, contact the nearest Australian diplomatic or consular mission. Child passport applications should be lodged at the nearest Australian mission by a parent/person with parental responsibility for the child.
Applications should normally be printed on international standard (A4) paper.
Some countries use paper other than A4, typically USA, Canada, Mexico and the Philippines.
If using US Standard Letter or US Legal paper
When printing this PDF document, you should choose page scaling/sizing as follows:
US Standard Letter size (8 1/2" x 11"); in the box allowing "Page Scaling/Sizing" - choose the words closest in meaning to "Fit to page/printable area".
US Legal paper size (8 1/2" x 14"); in the box allowing "Page Scaling/Sizing" - choose the words closest in meaning to "none/not required".
NOTE: Forms can be printed in colour or black and white using a good quality laser or inkjet printer. Dot matrix printed forms, or forms which are blurred or illegible in any way, will not be accepted.

Be aware that
