Update: Country of Birth - Palestine

The Australian Government now recognises Palestine as a country of birth in its passport systems.

This change follows the Australian Government’s recognition of the State of Palestine and supports accurate records across government systems.

The current application processes apply to customers applying for Australian passports and non-citizen travel documents for the first time.

Renewing your Australian passport? You’ll need to submit a B11 General Declaration with supporting documents to update your country of birth in our system to reflect the country update. Town, city or suburb of birth will still appear on all Australian travel documents, not country.

Non-citizens will be able to select ‘Palestinian’ as their nationality to appear on their travel-related document.
