Update on passport services and online options in the Middle East

Passport services have resumed normal operations at Australian embassies and consulates in Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The temporary digital upload facility for passport applications is no longer available in these countries.

For Australians in Iraq and Israel temporary digital upload arrangements remain in place through the Australian embassy in Baghdad and Tel Aviv.

For updates on passport services in your area, check the website and social media channels of your nearest Australian embassy or consulate(Opens in a new tab/window). Staying informed and ensuring your travel documents remain valid will help you travel without unnecessary disruption.

If your passport expires within the next 6 months, you should consider renewing it. Many countries may not allow you to enter, transit or board a plane if your passport has less than 6 months validity.

To learn more or start your application, please see applying outside Australia.

If you need to travel urgently, contact your nearest Australian embassy or consulate. They will advise if you're eligible for an emergency passport.
