It's NAIDOC Week!

Did you know our passport uses elements from Indigenous art in its design?

For example, the watermark in the passport’s pages, which helps prevent counterfeiting, is from 'Yumari' (1981), a painting by the renowned late Aboriginal artist, Uta Uta Tjangala.

The watermark is just one of the many security features built into the passport’s design.

Features like these make Australia’s passport one of the world’s most secure and beautiful travel documents. Find out more on our website.

Start your passport application safely - right here at passports.gov.au

Some websites offer to help you apply for an Australian passport, but they’re not official.

They may charge unnecessary fees or collect your personal information without your consent.

Only apply for an Australian passport through the official government website: passports.gov.au

Protect yourself online by following these tips:

  • only use the official government website passports.gov.au to apply for a passport
  • never share personal information on third-party websites
  • check the URL ends in ‘.gov.au’ to ensure it’s legitimate.

If you’ve already used an unofficial site, contact IDCare for more advice.
